This downtown Pittsburgh engagement shoot takes place in the golden hour of sunset where the talented Sara Blose of Bona fide Photography captures this beautiful couple in love. The shoot began at Point State Park’s fountain, where John proposed, followed by the Roberto Clemente Bridge, and concluded with some romantic moments in the city, downtown. Now, of course every girl wants to know how he proposed, but first we must delve into how these two met.
The love story begins at a college Halloween party with Jordan in a cop costume and a bald college freshman following her around. As John, the bald freshman, follows her around attempting to pronounce the rather long name written on her badge, Jordan asks her friend to keep him away! Now, I know you might say, “That’s not a love story! She didn’t want him anywhere near her!” Well fast forward an entire year to when Jordan see’s John walking down the hallway, and I’ll be well on my way to changing your mind.
When Jordan sees John after a year, not only does she fail to recognize it was the guy from the party, but she thinks he’s totally cute! The friend she told to keep him away at the party overheard her say John was cute, and they spilled the beans that John had a thing for her that entire year. Jordan and John hung out, watched Aladdin, and now these two plan to be wed. How do you like that for a whole new world?
John proposed to Jordan on his birthday with just a few simple words, “All I want for my birthday is you. Will you marry me?” After Jordan says “are you kidding me” at least ten times, John says, “Jordan, you have to say yes.” With all the love and excitement in her heart, Jordan shouted “YES!”
Who would have thought that seemingly annoying freshman would turn out to be her dream guy? I surely cannot wait to see their wedding photos because these two are a match made at a super awkward Halloween party, I mean in heaven! Seriously, their totally cute! One thing is for sure, the sunset will shine a little prettier after being present for this downtown Pittsburgh engagement shoot.
How is wedding planning going? Wedding planning is going well. But honestly, it is not my favorite thing. At the beginning, booking things and working with vendors gave me anxiety. It can all be very overwhelming and we do not have a wedding planner. We are figuring everything out together, with help from family and friends. Now that I am getting closer to the big day I very much enjoy the smaller details. – Jordan
What do you plan to DIY for your big day? The invitations have been fun for me. I love to DIY and I’m trying to be very crafty. I made invitations and I’m putting together all my centerpieces and decorations for the reception. I’m making my seating chart out of a large antique frame and stringing wire across the frame to clip each table of names on the wire with mini clothes pins. My dad is also making my archway for the ceremony, so we are getting pretty crafty! -Jordan
